RIP Bob Sheppard
Don't know if anyone saw this yet, but I just found out... it's going to be so sad hearing "him" announce Jeter at games now... he was seriously a legend.

Re: RIP Bob Sheppard
You know I'm just as sad today...it was hard enough going to games the last 2.5 seasons without his voice...now to know his voice is silenced... just too sad. He had an amazing life - 99 is a phenomenal run!!
For those of you who aren't an FB friend or know me from LIW, we had a Yankee theme for my wedding and I paid Mr. Sheppard to record our bridal party announcements. It was the most incredible thing and something people still talk about to this day. He is such a HUGE part of their history.

So sad... 99 is a long, wonderful life, but I feel like he should have gone on forever.

I didn't know that. What an incredibly wonderful memory to have.
The stadium PA hasn't sounded the same since he first got sick.
I had always hoped that he would get a limo ride into the Bronx to see the new stadium - but by all accounts he never made it.
