I had one in the winter! It's awful! If it is the right antibiotic, should just take a day or two to feel better. When I had mine, the first round didn't work but I got switched to a different antibiotic and that one worked.

Re: Sinus Infections in summer-booooo help!!
I've been on antibiotics for the past 2 weeks for sinus infection. ENT said its not surprising due to the allergies and gunk getting stuck around up there....
He just had me switch to another type of antibiotic today because the kind he originally gave me started giving me backpain since Sunday.
Use a sinus rinse/neti pot to get out the gunk and feel better.

I was thinking that. either going to the amusement park, or goin in n out of extreme heat and then extreme cold could do it for me.
backpain?? what kind of antibiotc were u on?
the sinus rinse in a bottle helps me..burns like h3ll but helps!

I was on avelox. I took it once for 7 days and it was OK. Took it now for 9 days and it started giving me backpain. Continued for another 5 days with the backpain but I figured its now too long so I called doc and he is giving me something else.
Are you talking about the Neil Med sinus rinse, the little packets that you mix with the water? It shouldn't burn. Make sure you're putting in enough water and that the water isn't too hot.

Re: Sinus Infections in summer-booooo help!!
I got 2 awful sinus infections when I was pregnant and didn't want to take antibiotics. What helped me were the Simply Saline nasal spray which helped clear me up a bit and relieve the sinus pressure, and laying with a damp warm towel on my face. Breathe in steam to loosen up the mucous. Sinus infections really suck, I hope you feel better soon!
