Ok, so I'm gonna go to a new DR.
last time i went to a dr i was still on my parents insurance......
now, i finally got on DH's insurance. i haev teh phone number to the Dr....
what do i do?
just call and ask "hi. id like to make an appointment for a check-up..i'm a new patient..." ?????
do i need a reference???
(sorry, im not used to doing "grown up things" on my own yet.. i was/am a very spoiled girl)

just call and say that you need an appointment and they are going to ask if you are a new patient and the type of insurance you have and that's it.

oh really?! ok. how far in advance do you need to make an appointment?
and also another insurance quest.....
does insurance cover Birth Control? like teh patch ?? (othroevra)

it really depends on your insurance company, I would definitely give them a call to make sure what's in your coverage.

Sometimes even though they are in the book or on they site doesnt necessarily mean they take new patients or that they accept the insurance its happened to me so always ask just in case.
