What cat food do you feed your cat?

I've always given my cat Science Diet, but I have no idea why I'm giving her that over a brand sold in the grocery store. Is there any real difference? other than price and inconvenience? She's so picky and barely eats it - I wanted to try a different brand. She's 5 if that matters at all.

Of my two cats, one is very picky- the other tries to eat the food off OUR plates!

Anyway, they eat-

Dry food: Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula (green bag)

Wet food: Meow Mix Market Selects (they actually look pretty good! )

My cats have no complaints with this combo!!

they both get Wellness brand Healthy Weight dry food... 1 cup split in the morning and evening.


Loki: will ONLY eat 2 flavors of Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys... cold from the fridge in a chilled bowl!!!!! cold food, warm bowl... not a chance!!!

Gizmo: will eat anything, anywhere, anytime... event if its not edible!!! thats why we call him Hoover!

we feed miller Natural Balance Green Pea and Chicken formula.... its grain free & miller was having an allergy issue

he's been on it for about 7 months and hes been doing great!

My indoor cats were putting on weight so I switched to Royal Canin indoor for adult cats.

Iams active maturity dry food. my boy is a senior (12 yrs old) but still acts like a kitten.

my cats only eat Meow Mix. We tried switching to something "better" and they kept throwing it up. We were keeping it in the fridge because our last place had ants really bad and gravitated towards the cat food, so we couldn't leave it out but the cats refused to eat it cold

Canned Food = Blue Buffalo
Dry Food = either Science Diet or Blue Buffalo

Whiskas Cat milk every two - three days

we have very spoiled cats

Purina Cat Chow. On occassion they'll split a can of Fancy Feast wet food. They drive me crazy though. They get so excited for it but then each eat 2 bites and it sits there and smells up the kitchen!

I use Royal Canin. I used to do a natural one, but they didn't like it. Not the best, but not the worst either. I switched from Science Diet to the above two when that poisoned animal food thing happened a few years ago.

I haven't looked at the bag in a while but I liked what it had i in compared to other brands.

We give them treats that are really crap but the love it.

For a really special treat they get turkey and chicken which is probably better for them than the other treats.

Bella will eat anything and Izzy is picky.

Tostito gets Science Diet Indoor dry food.
We stop feeding him wetfood 2 years ago.

Disney eats Purina Cat Chow. Ate the wet food when she was a kitten, but now wants nothing to do with it.

Can food - Fancy Feast Selects but only sliced NO pate. Although, he has started to become SUPER picky with this as well. He rarely finishes any of it, some days he doens't even eat any of it.

Need to try something else now as far as can goes.

Dry Food - Purina Kitten Chow and NO he isn't a kitten. We've tried other brands of dry food - he just likes his kitten food.

Yes, there is a big difference in cat foods. Most supermarket foods contain a lot of corn/grain. Cats are carnivores, this is why many cats get sick and throw up their food. My cats are extremely spoiled but I have NEVER had a cat turn down the Innova Evo dry food. I have had many cats over the years… foster and permanent pets. It’s expensive and only available at some pet stores, so I know that deters a lot of people from buying it.

I have just as strong an opinion on what my cats eat as what I eat… I don’t eat processed foods and I don’t eat corn, and neither to my cats.

Also, not sure if anyone is doing this, but you can’t just put a new food out, you have to transition them over a few weeks by mixing more and more of the new food into the old food.

we feed her eukanuba weight control. we don't do any wet food, never have. imo, she eats so little that the giant bag bought with the coupon lasts forever, and the better food just isn't that much of an expense. after years of trying to get our fat girl to shed some pounds, she finally has since we switched! maybe it was all that grain in the cheap food.

i have read a few reports and they say a good mix of wet and dry food is very healthy for cats. Dry usually dehydrates them so the wet is added water and protein. I noticed both cats have excellent coats with the combination.
