Anyone get ELA scores yet?
Or any of the 4th grade test scores.
We haven't and I thought we would have them by now.
We are in Lindenhurst. I'm not sure if that matters.
TIA!

Re: Anyone get ELA scores yet?
In June one of the posters reported that they delayed grading them for some reason or another. We should get them in August.

Re: Anyone get ELA scores yet?
Be prepared. The state upped the passing rate and the reports came out today that only 53% of 3-8 students passed the ELA

I thought I had heard that on the radio this morning! I guess we should be seeing scores in the next few weeks then!

Re: Anyone get ELA scores yet?
I think the newspaper today said they were being mailed in September?

Re: Anyone get ELA scores yet?
Oh wait...Newsday quoted the superintendent of Middle Country..maybe September isn't the date for everyone?
Gerold said local students probably would be informed of their scores by letter in September - an approach expected in many districts. She said she anticipates numerous questions from parents.

Re: Anyone get ELA scores yet?
Well.. after looking at what they released.. it doesn't seem that bad for our district. Robbie took the Grade 3 ELA's and it shows over 75% were level 3 or 4 - so I'm thinking (hoping) he fell in one of those categories... if he didn't.. I think we'll have to consider tutoring.

That was me !!
Here's what I found -
We probably won't get them until September - NYS pushed back thr release date to make sure they were all scored correctly -
LINK(about 1/2 way down the page)
Revised Test Scoring Timeline During their May meeting, the EMSC Committee of the Board of Regents voted to postpone the release of the Grades 3-8 ELA and Mathematics test scores until the week of July 26, 2010. Given the importance of the Grades 3-8 Testing Program and the need to ensure that the tests return valid and reliable information to school districts, parents, and students, the Department will not release the scores in late June.
and the most recent newsletter states that they DID adjust the scoring - so it will be more likely that you will see more students get Level 1 & 2. LINK to the most recent newsletter.
HTH !!
