How much does neutering cost (dog)?
My new vet wants $300+ but I believe my old vet (who I loved but was an hour away from where we live) Only wanted half that. It just needs to get done already.

We paid about $250-$300 about 3 years ago.

Use Friends of Animals!
On the right hand side, they have "Spay/Neuter Certificates" (in a red box) or you can click here.
You essentially donate $64 to Friends of Animals and the mail you a certificate for neutering. You use it at a participating vet and pay only small fees (anesthesia, etc.). We used it at Babylon Animal Hospital and it saved us a TON of money.
It's a great organization. FM me if you want more info and thank you for helping control the pet population (I sound like Bob Barker...).

I paid 225 for neutering and a microchip at Bellport Animal Hospital... The surgeries are done there but we are clients of Sayville Animal Clinic

My vet charges 250. You should check local shelters. I know brookhaven charges 150.

Island Rescue in Bayshore (and I think they have one other location) is a low cost vet that has low cost spay/neuter. All of the vets volunteer their services so you just have to pay for lab costs and meds.

The medical center at NSAL also has low cost spay / neuter. Rates are on their web site.

i did this for my cat at babylon animal hospital (i think that is the one that is on park ave ... well really montauk hwy in lindenhurst? they were amazing! that was my favorite vet. their office isn't the most beautiful, but when my dog was very sick, the tenderness they showed me and my dog was unforgettable!
any vets close to wantagh that honor the friends of animals spay / neuter?

$95 for everything including medication at Kent Animal Shelter.
