if you dont have a basement, where do you keep your cat's litter box?
looking for a new place for the litter box... we dont have a basement... right now its in the office, but DH hates it in there since we just put hardwood down & you can feel the little grains of litter that escape from the box when you walk in the room
my bathrooms are too small also -- any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Ours is in the laundry room and we have a mat underneath that sort of traps most of the litter. Not all of it but better if it wasn't there at all.

i did think of this... does your laundry room have a door? ours does.. its one of those accordian doors... so we'd have to leave it open all the time & i dont know how i would feel about that, but thats our only option right now

we have a basement but dh doesn't want the cats down there since its unfinished. So right now its laundry room and second bathroom. At first we had it in the kitchen and i have to say it forces you to clean it twice a day at times but it stinks when you have company because they make comments.
I plan on purchasing the mats to trap the stuff because we have litter all over our wood floors from the laundry room.
They do have those nice furniture looking ones that hide the box so you can have it in your living room!

We have a large (8x8) closet downstairs (in a high ranch) that was used for 'storage' by previous owners, we still use the shelves to store things we arent currently using, we just leave the door open, and put the litter boxes in there.
Do you have an extra closet or storage area that you could maybe either leave the door open or put up one of those cute room dividers?

bath tub... and we wash the cat litter down the drain (we have flushable wheat litter)

I have it in the hallway  . We have a small apartment, hey it's Europe! When guests come over we move the boxes to another room. Soon I'm going to move a box to our computer room and one will stay in the hallway. The cats are happy and it doesn't smell. The only annoying thing is the litter gets on the floor, but I sweep it up every day.

Not at all, he jumps in even when the curtain is closed. I thought he was going to give us a problem but I just put him in the box to show him where his litter was and let him jump out. It worked for us.

We have a two bedroom apartment and two cats. One box is in the hall way between the two bedrooms and the other is in the corner of the living room between the end of the sofa and the wall (we dont have end tables)

we live in an apartment so we dont have a basement but we made the second linen closet into a litter box area. we took out the door and added curtains... looks cute actually

In the bathroom. We live in a 1 bedroom apt. There is no other place I would keep it. I'm very skeeved at the idea of having it anywhere else but the bathroom...don't ask me why.
Plus its nice and easy to just scoop & flush.

there's never really a good place. we keep ours next to the washing machine. we have almost no carpets in the house, so i know what you mean about the litter underfoot. we use a mat too. i also got one of those stick vacs and i vacuum the floors constantly. it's not so bad since it's lightweight and small--just part of the routine.

I live in a 1 bed apt and there is a little alcove in the corner of our livingroom. We put it there so its out of the way and not really visible.
