teeth cleaning
Has anyone ever brought their dogs to the vet to get their teeth cleaned? My little teacup Yorkie Jasper (weighs about 6 lbs) desperately needs his teeth cleaned but I am having such anxiety about him going under anesthesia... he was actually scheduled today to get his teeth cleaned but I made DH cancel this morning because I was having panic attacks over the whole thing... he was neutered before but I cant help but be soo nervous about this whole thing....

Re: teeth cleaning
I understand. My dogs have been put out for this...my female dog is due again this mth.
It's very nerve wracking but I believe it does need to be done b/c bad teeth can actually kill a dog (infections, etc).
I can understand your concerns, I had them too and I am a wreck all day when my dogs go in but my vet does it all and I trust him 100%. I make sure he doesn't let ANYONE else do it...while my dogs are out.

Re: teeth cleaning
I need to call my vet and schedule my two babies for this too. Not looking forward to it, it has to be done though.

Re: teeth cleaning
We've done it for both of ours, and it IS scary knowing they'll be anesthetized, but it's important for their health. Both of them were fine afterwards - one had an upset stomach for a day or so, but nothing bad happened.

Re: teeth cleaning
My parents were told to get naturally shed dear antler to help Oreo with his teeth. After a month they saw an improvement. Have you tried the doggie tooth brushes and the flavored tooth paste? My dog loves the vanilla flavor
Hope everything works out
