cat that needs a home

i was at my vet the other day and there was a sign that said that a lady had to get rid of her cat bc her son was allergic to it....the cat is male, 1 yr old, neutered and i think declawed?

underneath that sign (is what made me sick! ) the sign said-if it doesn't find a home by 8/23 it will be euthinized-

-i am not a cat person particularly bc i am allergic..but i was hoping someone on here may be interested or know someone who might be. it was black and white-really cute too! name is joey. i can get the ladies phone # if you are interested (i should have written it down)

A vet's office would ACTUALLY allow this sign up? It will actually kill a healthy 1 year old cat? I would personally speak to the person in charge about that sign.

it didnt' bother me so much that the vet office allowed the sign..what bothered me more was that the owner would resort to that instead of finding home i feel she should do anything in her power to find a good home and not just euthinize....i feel the vet office prob. figured when somone saw that sign that it would be a way to help this desparate cat....i probably wouldn't have posted about it on here if it didn't say it was going to be put to sleep, kwim?

how does an owner just euthinize their pet bc their kid is allergic...i don't get it-it's terrible

i just dont understand what goes through peoples head.... i wish i can adopt the kitty... but i already have 2 dogs and 2 cats in a 2 bedroom apartment...
