What is your weakness
I have an interview today and I know I am going to get that dreaded "what is your weakness." What do you say?

I was watching The Hills on MTV, and the girl made a great point. Turn weakness to positive. Your weakness is that you are too much of a perfectionist...get it? HTH

I went on an interview friday and said I use to have a problem where I wouldnt speak my mind if I had a thought or an idea that would make things flow better - I told her that it was in the past, and I learned to get over my fear of speaking up

If you're not using a weakness, you are not answering the question - 95% of people also answer w/ I'm a perfectionist or I work too hard. What you need to do is find an area where you may be slightly deficient but that you are working on, and tell the employer what you are doing to change that weakness so it will not impact you. Like, I have a tendency to procrastinate, but I realize that impacts everyone else, so I always make my own deadlines before the actual deadline so I that my issue doesn't impact others.
(Obviously this doesn't work if you are trying to pass off a weakness that is at the core of your job function or is a true character flaw.)

As an HR Professional, I agree 100% with this. If you do not provide a weakness, you are not answering the question. Too many people use the perfectionist response. Identify something you are weak in, and indicate how you are working to improve that.
