So pizzed - small in the big scheme of things but still.... VENT
My DS's hair has been long and shaggy. He looks so cute (he's 4) My older son has the kind of hair that has to be short or it gets out of control in a bad way so I've been enjoying DS #2's surfer dude hair. But it started looking very shapeless so I brought him to get it trimmed at the kids place at Sunrise Mall. I didn't really know what to tell her to do bc all I know is short hair for boys but I said trim a little, no bowl cut and don't cut short bangs into it. So what does she do? yep...frickin bowl cut with straight across bangs. And the sides were flipping in a weird way. I'm not a hairdresser but I could tell she left some strange weight in the one section otherwise it wouldn't have done this goofy curl towards the face flip. So when they s*ck like that, do you really want them fixing it? I brought him home and tried to fix it a little and then finally conceded to buzzing it tonight. He looks so cute, don't get me wrong. And it's "just hair" but it was so annoying.
Vent over, carry on...

aww that would drive me nuts. But it sounds like you're both getting over it. I was not thrilled with sunrise mall either.

I'm with you Liz. I stopped going to the regular barber b/c they only know short.
I started going to Rockabilly's (there's one in W Islip that you could go to) and I'm now happy leaving.

I totally understand. Robbie has this lank hair that just looks all wrong long.. but Noah looks pretty cute with longer hair.. as long as it's not too shaggy. Rob cuts their hair. Robbie's gets buzzed and it's great. Noah usually gets a little trim and it's fine.. but a few times he's trimmed a little bit too much. We've managed to avoid a buzz so far.. but only barely!!
I'm glad you are both feeling better about the cut and I bet he is perfect either way!!

I once told the barber, scissor cut the top and buzz the sides but not short. What did he do, Buzzed the top on a two. I was screaming and wanted to kill the guy. After a week of so, I was able to finally admit it looked cute, but still it was not what I had wanted.
I am sure in a few week when it grows in you will love it. It is so much easier to maintain too.

Oh I'm partial but he looks stinkin cute now too. It's short now but not overly short. It was that in between bowl that I clearly told her not to do that I hated. And he didn't know the difference either way. I keep telling him how cute he looks and what kind of crazy Mommy would cover that face with longer hair. Bc I havent seen him with short hair since the beginning of the year.
I just detest that lack of listening and/or skill. I usually cut my kids' hair myself - buzzer for Dthe boys , simple trim on ends for DD so I forget that kids can get bad cuts too.
