Does anyone have a relationship with their stepkids after divorce?

Just wondering if anyone who has stepkids...and then divorced, how did you keep a relationship?

My male cousin had a DD from a previous marriage (and had custody of her ) and then had another DD with his 2nd wife....

When he and his 2nd wife divorced, the DD from his first marriage actually stayed living with the 2nd wife for quite a number of years (because she was a girl and it was in her pre-teens they agreed that she was better suited for the time being) It was amicable ...

Now she lives back with the dad ( my cousin)


Obviously this is somewhat unique situation, but I think a relationship can be maintained if both parties are on the same page

Well, not quite the same again ...but my SD's bio-mother has an older DD ...

When my DH was dating her ( gag) he became close with her older DD (she was about 4) ...After he split with her, for about a year he would take both the older DD and his DD for visitation every other week-end or so and slowly phased it out ( we wanted to make sure my SD had her own time with her father)

My DH is a saint

Maybe if your ex is on board with that, you could try to do something similar
