resume question
my last job was in 2008. i have an interview today, and i'm sure they are going to ask me what i have been doing since then. (stay at home mom)
should i list on my resume that i decided to leave the workforce to stay home with my son? or just leave it as is? or should i list an objective that i am looking to return to the workforce now that my son is in school?
TIA!!

Re: resume question
I wouldn't put anything down. I was out of work (as a SAHM) for close to 6 years when I got a PT job. I have an interview tomorrow and my resume is still the same (with a gap in years).

Re: resume question
Leave it. If the question comes up and it should, tell the reason. If you decide to say you wanted to stay home with your DC then tell them that you always intended on returning to work but this was the right time.

Re: resume question
I would leave it. They will most likely ask so then just explain to them.
Good Luck!

Re: resume question
i agree. they'll be sure to ask about the gap in employment.
i read an Oprah mag article about job hunting where they said that if you're a SAHM to be unapologetic for taking time out of the workforce. It's precious time you have with your kids and you decided to spend it with them. If you did any volunteer work or anything, talk about that in a work like way. maybe transferable skills you got out of it.
