What do i make of this???
Just signed dd up for soccer 2 weeks ago. She never played a day in her life. Anyhow, I got an email from her coach saying this sunday is her game. He said he would like to know if we are available on sat AM or sun AM prior to the game for a practice. Otherwise the game is on Sunday. Is this the way soccer goes? LOL i dont get it. Shes thrown into a game with knowing what to do? So confused.......

What league?
I tried to get into yours but Gillys bday was at their cut off... They told me they would have to override it and the classes were filled. SOOOO basically to get her in there she will be a yr behind all her peers. strange, no? Anyhow, we got her into another one same district called lake grove triangles. Not familiar with it at all. Do you know anything about it?

That's just how it goes sometimes - the coach likely didn't start practices as soon as he could/should have.
I promise it isn't a big deal though. The games are usually better 'practices' than actual practice. And they generally aren't competitive at that age - just fun and exercise and learning!
Good luck!

In the league I chaired, for the pre-K group, they have practice for a half hour before the game & then a half hour game.
I believe most coaches got their rosters in the last week.

That's what our league does too. The kids run drills and some practice skills for 1/2 hour, then they meet up with another team and have a game (if you can call 10 4-year olds running after a soccer ball a game!). The coaches are both out there teaching as the "play."

Thats exactly how it was with DS and t-ball.....His first year, no practices at all ...
Last year we had a great coach and he did wonders with them....
This year, same as the first

DS's first exposure to soccer was at a "game" also. Most seasons, it happened that way.
