Time to schedule my HSG....
I am spotting so I know AF is coming...tomorrow I am going to schedule my HSG....

Good luck!
As much as we all don't like to see AF sometimes it is good so that we can move on to our next steps.
I just had my HSG last week so if you have any questions just ask away.
Where do you have to go for it? I went to Nassau Radiologic, 410 Lakeville Road. The dr and nurse were very nice. He even made sure I could see the TV

I am going to Nassau Radiology too in Garden City....I am going Thursday...I thought it was weird that my doc said that i do not need antibiotics...did you take them???

I didn't take antibiotics for my HSG and I was fine. I've heard some drs give antibiotice and some dont. But you could ask your dr to give you one if you feel more comfortable. I know I would have, I should have asked but I didnt - but I didnt have any infections at all.

I took antibiotics it was 2X a day for 4 days, my RE gave me the prescription.
Do you also have the scrip for your HCG (beta/pregnancy) test? You can't have the HSG w/o it. I think that has to be done 3 days before the HSG.

I have to go Tuesday for a blood test and then my doctor will fax over the results....the nurse who called me back said they never heard of such a thing (with the antibiotics)...what antibiotic is it and how long after the HSG did you take it?

Some doctors offices dont give antibiotics. Its really just a precautionary measures to avoid any chance of infection from the HSG. Infection is rare, but possible. Like i said I didnt have a problem.

I was put on doxycycline I had to take it for 4 days, 2 x a day. I started it two days before the HSG. Maybe because it was my first procdure the RE was nervous about the possibility of infection?
