Wearing to an interview?

My DH has a job interview on Monday. He really wants to make a good impression as he really wants this job. Are men wearing suits? Or can he wear dress pants with shirt & tie? Its at a hotel so he wont be going to the Corp office & the field he is in tends to be more casual. Is it better to be over dressed rather than under dressed?

Unless the field is really casual, I think it's best to wear a suit. If by dressing that formal would back fire (say he was interviewing at a very casual kind of place, or very creative) then I'd say maybe dress pants and shirt and tie, but otherwise I'd say suit.
