is this too old? gift for a 13-year-old
our niece is turning 13 this month (   )
she is an avid dancer and just tried out this weekend for LaGuardia High School (Fame high school).
I am trying to figure out a gift and thought maybe a show would be good. do you think this is age appropriate?
I know she'll say she likes it and will go b/c she's that kind of gal...but I'd really like her to like it KWIM, and I am not sure if a show would be too "stuffy" for her?? or for a gal that age....
any suggestions would be very appreciated!
she dances modern and competition hip hop if it matters, but has also danced tap and ballet.

I think it's a great idea. When I was 13 I loved going to shows, but I didn't live around here so it was a big deal to come and visit family and ride on the subway and the whole bit, so I don't know if it was the show or the whole experience, you know?

I think it's a great idea.. especially if you allow her to invite a friend with you. Then you can do a meal and a show and girly talk.

I remember going to shows as a birthday present from my parents around that age... I LOVED IT. It would be an awesome gift.

No way, that's an awesome gift. My older DD is five and we've taken her to two Broadway shows (is that what you mean by "show?") already--for her 4th birthday and for her 5th. She loooooves it! We plan to do the same with the other children on their birthdays as well...

My DD is not even 4 yet and LOVES going to shows. She has been to several on Broadway and RCMH. SO I think for a 13 y.o. it would be great!

I was 12 when I went to my first broadway show..(Les Miserable). I loved it and wanted to see every show on Broadway after that.
I think she will love it especially since she's already into the arts and all.
