Becoming Permanently Certified
I hold a permanent certification in Elementary Ed. My Literacy certification is Initial. It is up in January. I have to apply for Permanent certification in Literacy. Does anyone know how to do this?
I went on the state ed website, and though I found info on certification, I can't find an exact answer to my question. Thank you!

if your Literacy Certificate is Initial, it does not become permanent, it becomes PROFESSIONAL. the only certificates that turn permanent are the ones that were first provisional, issued before 2004. They changed the certification requirements in 2004. there are different requirements for a professional certificate when compared to a permanent.

create an account and long onto TEACH. you can apply on that site for your professional cert. good luck!

Yup! Now you will have to keep track of all professional development since you will need i think 150hrs every 5 yrs in order to keep your certification
You will have to go to the TEACH website like above poster said
