wish me luck
so nervous. I'm going to my home district's board meeting to speak on the behalf of reinstating fulltime librarians.
the research is astounding linking libraries to reading scores.

Good luck!
The librarian of one of the elementary schools in our district retired at the end of last year and they didn't replace her, they are having the librarians of the other 2 schools split covering that school. It's a shame, there were a few programs our librarian ran the past few years that kids really liked and now can't be done since she is spending that time at the other school now.

whew! I did it! Most importantly i started a conversation about it. 4-5 people got up after me to piggy back on what I said!
I came armed with studies and statistics - only time will tell if I had any impact.
