If your school fundraised for a major expense (new playground, etc)
do you know if your PTA qualified for any grants?
I volunteered to chair our new playground committee (yikes!) and I was wondering about the grants and what the odds are of getting them. I spoke with our PTA co-presidents and they said they didn't know.
I know that we are going to need to raise in the neighborhood of $200k, so it's going to be a multi-year project, but it would be nice to get off to a solid start.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice!
Edited to clarify question, I have a bunch of articles and lists of grants off Google, but not sure if it's a waste of time to pursue.

The only thing we've done in the past is contact several companies that specialize in school playground equipment to cut a deal. For the last project we did, we went local and had it built from scratch out of sturdy wood. Had parents volunteer to help and saved a ton of money. That was for a private school, public I would try contacting companies first and take it from there with your BOE (Board of Education committee)
