where have you had your kids bday parties?
I am looking for a place to have my daughters 5th( sniff sniff) bday party. I live in the Ronkonkoma area. We've done /been to Pump it Up ( about a billion times ), Little gym, My Gym, karate, LI Ballet, the farm, Gymboree... just looking for some other suggestions... something a bit fdifferent. Her bday in in February and I can't really have it at home - too many kids. Thanks ladies!
eta:yes my avatar is my almost five year old. I haven't been here in a while LOL

DS has also been to Boomers!, LazerLand, a small place that just did themed parties, Saf-T-Swim.
I've looked into the go-kart place in Ronkonkoma http://karts1.com/

Re: where have you had your kids bday parties?
We've done White Post Farm - they do a great B-Day Party. Plus we've also done Bowling (that was where we had our DD 5th B-Day party), very reasonable with the price and the kids had a ball.
DD was invited to a party at the Go-Kart place in Ronkonkoma, DH thought it was more geared to older children as 5 year olds don't get the whole driving concept. DD kept hitting the barriers and almost got whiplash.

Re: where have you had your kids bday parties?
We did ISA in Sayville.. it was great fun for the kids and the adults. We did dodgeball and they had 2 huge bounce castles set up as well. We had a kids v. adults game of dodgeball.. and some relay races. There were some arcade games. Good times.
We've also done Karts in Bohemia.. it was okay. We've done LazerKingdom in Commack which they LOVED. The kids recently went to a mini Golf place in Ronkonkoma for a bday party which Robbie proclaimed as 'the best party ever'. We've been to a few Karate parties at the place on Montauk between Bayport and Sayville and they were fun. We've done slot carts at a place in Oakdale which was .. 'eh'. They loved the 'Build a Pal' place in Oakdale. And I know that the Movies in Sayville have been a huge favorite of theirs when they've gone. Also - one friend had a party out in Patchogue at a horse riding place that was a big hit.

Re: where have you had your kids bday parties?
Elwood Movie Theater Vanderbilt Planetarium Just Fabulous (spa party) Laser Kingdom Bayville Adventure Park
Other places they've been: -Pump It Up -Melville Marriot (swim party) -Saf-T-Swim in Commack & in Smithtown (Smithtown was MUCH nicer) -Chris Gates Tae Kwon Do (as many kids as you like! Same price!) -Wee Creations in Greenlawn (they loved it) -Sew Fun in Northport (very cute place. They sewed a pillow) -Harbor Trading in Northport (craft in the back room - there is no space for parents so this must be a drop off party) -Long Island Puppet Theater in Hicksville (creepy puppets, cute but for slightly younger kids) -Pet Jungle (they loved it but when I showed up my dd was MISSING & the staff said they thought she was picked up. She had wandered into the adjoining pet store. All was well but I thought I'd mention it) -Plastercraft in Commack - they loved it. I'm not sure how it would play out with the older kids. -Island Rock in Plainview - one of the best parties we've been to. Staff was terrific. They let the parents climb for free if they wanted. They really encouraged the kids & helped them. My son walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. Bring your own cupcakes. Theirs weren't very good.
I'll try to think of other places we've been but that's off the top of my head.

I initially thought that it was a crazy price as well, but most parties are like $300 for 10 kids or whatever, so it really is competitive with what most other places charge.
