Spin-off to Holiday Fair ( especially for those who have worked it)

Out of curiosity, how is the pricing at these things ?

The sheet DS had said gifts range from .50- $10.00....

I sent him with $25.00 for 5 people and I have seen all the gifts he bought (except for my own ofcourse Chat Icon )

He came home with $3.00 and some change and for the life of me, based on what he bought, I can't see how he spent $22.00Chat Icon

He did get his older sister a "nice" necklace so I'm thinking that may have been on of the big ticket items Chat Icon , but the rest wasnt adding up to what "I" thought it would ...

Keychains, mini notepads, pencils etc....Are they pricey ?

Should I have sent him with more $$ ? I'm a newbie at this Chat Icon

Don't get me wrong, in his eyes he put his heart and soul into his choices and we will all love them , I just hope I wasn't being cheap Chat Icon

He also snuck a lil something in for himself ( which i said he could if he had leftover and even got something for our dog -which I thought was adorable that he thought of Chat Icon )

Stacey, that sounds about right. We have this at my school & a lot of the gifts are $3-5.

They average $5 or so...

I sent DS in with a $20 for three gifts (mom, dad and his sister). He came home with 25-cents change!

I sent my kids in with $10 each and they each got 6 items. I figured none is really worth it anyway so I'd rather not spend more than that. My Mother is not going to care if it's a $4 brooch or a $1 ring with a "jewel" - she will swoon over it and realistically, it's going to be a piece of junk anyway. But they like the idea of shopping on their own and are very cute about picking stuff out.

I think our highest priced item was 7.50. Most of the stuff was 3.00 - 4.00 with a good smattering of 1.00 items.

I love working the holiday fair. The kids have so much fun shopping.
Yesterday I was the "personal shopper" for a little girl in K. She wanted to buy gifts for her sisters. When I asked how old they were she wasnt sure but she told me she had 2 big sisters that were maybe 12 or 15 and a little sister. We found some nice jewlery for her big sisters. I asked about her little sister and she said oh she is like me and then pointed to another little girl and said there she is - she was a twin. The funny thing is both girls had picked out the same bracelets for their older sisters.
