back from the dr (xpost from pregnancy board)
i had my 8 week sonogram today and they didn't see a heartbeat :(
the yolk sac was measuring at the right size but the fetal pole was a bit small. my doctor thinks i had a missed miscarriage and wants to do a D&C next friday.
i asked her to do a sonogram before the D&C to make sure there still wasn't a heartbeat.
i'm heartbroken.
has anyone had anything similar happen and ended up seeing a heartbeat later on?

what did the sonogram measure the baby at in terms of weeks? if the baby was measuring 8 weeks and no HB I would think you have a problem but maybe the baby is measuring weeks behind when the HB is not visible yet.

Yolk sac was measuring 7.5 weeks and baby was measuring 6.5 weeks with no HB... really hoping the sonographer just messed up. feeling so heartbroken

i am sorry i am going through my own thing now ( i am only 6 weeks though), but i would suggest to wait until 10 weeks before doing D&C. please read online, there are women who did not see a HB at all at 8 weeks, but then it appreared at 10 weeks. GL!
