Re: Mad a UPK teacher..would you be?
I would be annoyed and would address it with her tomorrow. Hopefully she was just having a bad day today and snapped at you.

I agree. I would address it - not so much because she wanted me to leave but because I'm assuming that conversation took place in front of the kids or other parents.
If she had an issue with you she should have addressed it privately.

Re: Mad a UPK teacher..would you be?
I think the teacher was so inappropriate.
I will be honest. I have been looking for a pre-k for my youngest child this month and I was shocked to find out some schools keep the UPK kids in a separate class than the others...the worst part was that I noticed that their rooms were not nearly as nice as the other rooms. It really bothered me.
My son was a UPKer and he was in the same class as the other kids, always treated the same..
I fear that UPK children who are separated may possibly be treated differently because the school knows the parents are not paying the tuition directly and that you will most likely not move your child out of the school.
I would go straight to the director.

Re: Mad a UPK teacher..would you be?
I would be annoyed. Its PRESCHOOL.....This is a time for parents and kids to work things out, and for teachers to be extra sensitive to BOTH....Yes they know the ropes, but Parents DO need coddlign during this time as well and any teacher not ready for that needs to teach another grade IMO....So anyway, same exact thing would have happened to Noah, he gets embarassed in those situations and would have cried too....
I would bring it up tommorow.
I would say yoru doing what works for you both ( I too had to tell him I waited for him for the first few weeks till he started the bus) ...and that you were of aware of why she was crying and it had nothing to do with you and you felt very attacked...and you believe YOU knwo whats best for your daughter.

Re: Mad a UPK teacher..would you be?
I had SO many issues with UPK that I pulled my oldest son out and put him in private pre-k. The UPK "teachers" are not certified teachers, they are still in training. Obviously this one still needs a LOT of training. I would contact her supervisor, find out what college your UPK is being run through and complain.

It's a private catholic school.
Shes an older teacher who has been teaching for a LONG time.
These two sentences speak volumes.
You can bring in written affidavits from her classmates & other teachers & I suspect you won't get far.
