New WW and fruit...

So...I'm really glad that the new PointsPlus plan assigns no points to fruit, but I recently bought a case of clementines and I can seriously eat like 5-6 of them in a day. I guess it is better than eating pretzels or chips or 100 calorie packs as snacks, but still...I am afraid I am doing something bad by pounding back all these clementines. But I can't help it...they are just sooooo delicious this time of year!!!

I usually have 2-3 in a sitting (they are soooo tiny). Plus, how I see it, 2-3 is the same as one full size orange.

As long as you're still getting all your pts in, I think you're ok.

Re: New WW and fruit...

I wouldn't be too concerned. Even when fruit was counted, I believe 2 clementines were only a point.

I can still hear my old, flamboyant WW leader saying "Face it honey, nobody's here because they were eating bushels of apples." Chat Icon

As long as you aren't overinduldging.

Despite what the plan says, even though fruits are 0...a calorie is a calorie.

100 calories of fruit = 100 calories of pretzels (yes, fruit is the healthier option but a calorie is still a calorie).

To lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume.

Re: New WW and fruit...

Part of the good health guidelines is to have 3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, so I wouldn't be too worried about it and like a pp said you didn't get to where you were before from eating too much fruit

Very true. I guess it is okay since I usually am not finishing all of my daily points on the new plan. Many days I have 4-5 points left over (not good, I know, but I make up for it on the weekends, LOL). So I guess it balances out with all the fruit I am eating...
