Can anyone recommend an art kit for kids around 6yo?
DD only wants one thing for Christmas, and I've been going crazy trying to come up with a few more things for her.
She loves drawing and coloring so I was thinking about getting her a nice art kit with good pencils, oil pastels, etc.
Any recommendations? Thanks so much in advance!

I just bought an art kit for a gift for a 9 year old & discovered the Faber castell Creativity for kids line.
They had several of their products at borders.
I bought this one for a 9 year old,
Do Art Drawing Power
but this might be good for a 6 year old:
Do Art Travel Easel

My kids just have old tackle boxes. I bought a variety of different items and let them explore. They seem to gravitate toward particular mediums at different times so we expanded the vocabulary of whatever was interesting to them as it happened.. paints for a few months, oil pastels for a bit, etc..
The tackle boxes are great because they are big enough to hold a lot of different items so they grow with them - but still force some organization.

on Walmart.com - a beautiful wooden case - get their name on it - included in price $20 and get site to store free shipping. It was featured in Oprah magazine. Includes paint and brushes, crayons and coloring pencils. I'm very happy with it especially for that price.

Michaels had some really great kits.
I bought DD a big color by number and paint by number kit. It was on sale for $9.99
Also, I post about this all the time because DD#1 LOVES LOVES LOVES this:
