My crafty Christmas
I don't know if it was making the stockings or being pregnant but something has gotten me in the mood to sew this Christmas! Just wanted to share some of the projects I have finished so far:
Crayon Cozy for DSs friend:
Hostess apron for my sister:
tea wallets for a few people:
Springy Coasters for my sister:
Cargo Scarf for my SIL - it has pockets for a phone, wallet and ring for keys:
Small peacock handbag for my Mom:
"Shirt cuff Wallet" this is for my SIL who loves unique ways to re-purpose unused items, she is very green
"buttercup bags" for SIL and aunt:
I still have a few more things in the works - I am making father/son BBQ aprons and Christmas Card holders - my sewing machine is going to need a break after Christmas

Thanks so much guys
Libby - don't be disapointed normally I do one gift for everyone and assemble them akll assembly line style. I don't know what happened this year, I blame the insanity on being PG

I had never thought of selling them, but I'd be happy to figure something out for you if you want one.

Everything is awesome!!! Do you use patterns? I inherited my mother's sewing machine, but I am a novice. I can sort of follow a pattern-I would love to make some of the stuff you did! If you do use patterns were do you find them?

It depends on what I am making, but for these I did use patterns. Most of my quilting I design myself and I do have a tendency to just "figure out as I go" when I want to make something.
Here are the patterns:
Crayon ROll
Shirt Cuff Wallet
tea wallet
Buttercup Bag
peacock bag
Cargo Scarf
These are all pretty easy patterns, if you are just starting out I'd start with the crayon roll, tea wallet or cargo scarf - they use straight lines and basic sewing. The two bags are also easy, but require curved piecing. The peacock bag can be a little tricky because you have to be careful how you press your seams.
Have fun!
I forgot about the apron, it came from this book:

I love the tea wallets too! In fact you inspired me to try and make a couple (I am NOWHERE near your skill level, but the tea wallets seem doable for me with their straight lines, lol)

That is awesome, be careful though, they get addicting because they go so quickly ! You'll have to post pics when you are done! Have fun making them!
