Re: need some ideas on a Happy Santa

Posted by nrthshgrl

As I've mentioned Maddie has been saying that she didn't want anything for Christmas because she wanted to give Santa a break this year. She said he is so good to her every year that maybe he could get concentrate on other kids and then take it easy.

She is getting presents. DH explained to her that when she gives a present it makes her feel happy and its the same thing with Santa.

Didn't work. Last night she wrote her letter to Santa. It said "dear Kris Kringle, all I want for Christmas is for you to be happy. Love, Maddie ps. Have a Merry Christmas"

So we'll probably write a letter from him telling her how happy she's made him, etc.

I'd like to do something along with the letter to show her he's happy. Any ideas?

I would send an autographed and framed 8x10 picture of the smiliest santa you could find.

Also-is she too old for the computerized email from santa that is going around? Haven't seen it myself but I did hear about it. Maybe you can have him say how happy his is and he is looking forward to putting the perfect present under the tree for her?

Can you take her to meet Santa and explain things to him ahead of time so he can talk to her?

that is so sweet of her! good job raising her, Momma! anyway, instead of a letter could you get a relative to call and pretend to be Santa? I had an uncle that used to always fool me. if you don't already, maybe you can do a charity thing together to "help Santa out" with the other needy kids too...wrap and donate presents, etc.

I'm all for santa, but how about mom and dad, who really stress to get it all done and bought?

We take (usually) the big ticket item and tell DC that this is the gift mom and dad bought for them for xmas. Everyone else exchanges gifts, why not mom and dad to their kids.

Maybe you can do this and still tell her that santa stuffed her stocking anyway?

I agree with Erika that you could say the gifts are from you....

Another idea...

Maybe to show how happy Santa is he could donate to a charity in her name. He could say how proud he is of her for putting herself second, so this year not only is he giving her the gifts that he thinks she might want (ie toys clothes, etc.), but that he has also donated to a charity in her name, so that her thoughts, good wishes, and happiness will spread beyond her living room, and to somewhere else in the world. Then maybe you could make a little framed something having to do with the charity so she can always remember those she helped.

Re: need some ideas on a Happy Santa

can you put a card INSIDE a toy? That way she opens the toy (loves it hopefully) then the card can read "I am happy when I see you happy" kind of thing Chat Icon

I decided to make tags that say things like "It makes me happy when you dance" on the dance video we got her. "It makes me happy to see you singing & laughing".

I think that will go over better than a letter. Thank you for your ideas!
