louie is teething (and teething!) - any other suggestions?

right now we are freezing some of his chew toys, he licks them when they first come out of the freezer (big dork!) but then goes to town and it seems to help...we try to always put a toy by him to chew but do you have any other suggestions?

the poor guy will do anything to chew on stuff, since his back teeth seem to bother him most, luckily he has been sticking to his toys though instead of mommy and daddy's stuff or the furntiure! (but you should have seen him trying to lug daddy's size 13 shoe aroudn the other day, we were hysterical, it was too heavy!)

They have the rawhide or green bones at the pet store. They really need to chew. You may even find some of their teeth around but if you don't, it's okay, they usually swallow their teeth. teething pup

i've seen them....i read not to give puppies rawhide b/c it is like leather and then they may chew shoes, or bags too (and his mommy loves her shoes and bags!) but maybe we will try the greenies....we got him a puppy key ring that he like (i thought it was so funny and had to get it!)...they are like the ones for kids but chewy and break up into small pieces so its ok if he swallows them, they come "right out" supposedly ...thanks!

our dogs LOVE rawhides....it's the only toy they don't destroy. Also, try ice cubes....our dogs love ice cubes

In all honesty, I've never had a dog do much with our shoes. They have chewed lots of rawhides over their lives (I've had 7 puppies) and only 2 dogs had this desire for my slippers with animal print on them. Otherwise, shoes were pretty safe. Ifyou do go with rawhides, just throw them out when they get to be small enough to fit in his mouth. And if you see pink on it, that is okay, too. Their gums bleed when they are teething.
