Nook Color...expensive toy?
I've been trying to talk myself out of buying a Nook Color for weeks. I don't need it but I really, really want it. My New Year's resolution is to "read more". I used to be a voracious reader and this past year and a half...well, I read one book. I used to love to read the newspapers and now I find I can't stand having all that paper sitting around the house. Clutter and waste. I saw that you can read magazines and newspapers besides books with the Nook Color.
My question -- is this just another expensive toy and I'm falling for the marketing or will this be money well spent? I promised my wife not to run out and buy every electronic toy/product because I have a bad habit of doing this and it's a waste of money usually.

All I can tell you is that I'm reading more than ever. It's great if you love to read and have the time. You'll love it!

Re: Nook Color...expensive toy?
I have a noo (but not color) and I rediscovered reading.
I love my Nook.
I am so glad I asked DH for it.

Re: Nook Color...expensive toy?
I opted for the regular Nook vs the color and I love it. I really only wanted an e-reader not a tablet (which essentially is what the Nook Color is).
So if you really want it just for reading consider the regular Nook. It's not a back lit so you can use it outside, less eye strain, etc.

Re: Nook Color...expensive toy?
Thanks all. I was thinking Nook color for magazines and newspapers too. But really books are what I would want it for.

Re: Nook Color...expensive toy?
I was really debating the regular Nook or the NookColor. I figured I really wanted it to just read, but the options that the Nook color has sold me. Besides, I have a DS now and the NookKids books look SO cool, so I'm hoping that comes in handy later on.
