So? How did you fare with the holidays?

Santa brought my nephews XBox Kinect for Christmas, so they were completely distracted all of Christmas day. Made it a really nice time actually, because eventually all the adults joined in and started playing.

No screaming, no fights, no crying. And the kids were pretty well behaved too. Chat Icon

How was yours?

DH out did himself Chat Icon He got me new Uggs and a bunch of sweaters and then told me Santa left something under the couch. I reached under and said what the hell is this heavy thing?! I finally got it out and ripped it open and saw it was a MacBook Pro! I've been saving up for the cheap one and he got me the 15" Pro! So excited!!

We hosted Christmas with my parents, my sister, MIL, my aunt and DH's grandfather. It was a good time. I taught everyone how to play LRC and I lost every game Chat Icon

Re: So? How did you fare with the holidays?

It was awesome until last night.

My BFF, her daughter (my Goddaugther), BFF's DH and his 11 year old daughter are here for the holidays. This is the first time the 11 year old has been to my house. We went to my Aunt's house with my whole family for Christmas Eve and my Mother called me last night to tell me that the 11 year old told my 4 year old nephew (my Godson) that there was no Santa Claus Chat Icon . He cried all the way home. My sister fixed it up after awhile and he was back on the Santa wagon in the morning but I FLIPPED A LID on her. She kept lying and lying and lying about it and I can't wait until she gets the F*CK out of my house.

Unfortunately their flight was cancelled and she is still here. Beyond the fact that after we has presents on Christmas Eve and DH and I totally hooked her up (as did my family), she sent a text to her Mother saying she got her stuff, now she wants to leave.

I had a great Christmas. Got to spend time with my IL's for Christmas Eve & Christmas morning & then come home & spend the afternoon & evening with my mom & brothers. It was a fun, relaxing few days. And I was happy because I didn't have to cook!

No kids, no kid talk - easy.

No one asked about boyfriends.

Though one of my aunts was all "so when you get married again" and I wanted to say that I enjoy banging 25 year olds too much to let someone put a ring on it, but whatever it was Christmas so I shut up.

Next Christmas, I'm getting drunk.

DH & I went on a cruise, just the two of us. We went to disney world and the bahamas. It was amazing! This was one of my favorite holidays EVER!!!!! No kids, no drama, no stress.

We got back on Sunday, just in time for the snow. We've been seeing our family and friends little by little b/c we weren't here for the 2 big family gatherings that we usually go to on Christmas Eve.

We had a great Christmas. Christmas Eve, mom cooked but we all went over to my sisters house (so all the kids had a place to play). All 5 of them stayed in the basement and played almost all night. Chat Icon Except for the occational "he wont let me play with that" thing they were really good.

Christmas day was at our house, only kid there was my BIL GFs son. he is really good. eats then plays the Wii. If you are wondering why we got such a huge sunow storm on Sunday, its because my In-laws showed up 30mins earlier than we expected them on Christmas day. Chat Icon it was a Christmas miracle!

On Sunday we went to my sister and BIL's house to give the kids their gifts. We were told that we spoiled them too much but you know what...thats our privilege! Chat Icon

I go my jewelry box that I wanted to match my BRAND new bedroom set! Chat Icon Re-doing our bedroom was our Christmas gift to ourselves. NEw windows, painted, new carpet and new furniture. it looks BEAUTIFUL!!! Chat Icon

Re: So? How did you fare with the holidays?

You all know I was in hell for a week...we stayed at MIL's with DH's sis, her DH & 2 nephews 12 & 6...the 6 year old ran around jumping all over furniture & yelling making my dogs go nuts...my poor rescue was snapping at him...DH saw him trying to hit her...that's when I heard him yell at the top of his lungs "Don't you EVER do that to a dog"...then we had days spent with his cousins and their lovely children...

my favorite was the comment made when my Dh said "well it's not my kid..." and his cousin said "it takes a village to raise a child" we said, "this village is child free...if we wanted the responsibility of watching a child, we'd have our own!"...hate when parents go out and expect others to watch what their kids are up to...i don't expect people to watch my dogs...needless to say my week off from work was not spent doing what i wanted to and I'm not happy that Monday is right around the corner...oh well...next year it's my family with children who behave!!! On Christmas day at my in-laws, my MIL insited DH take pictures by the tree with his infant Godson. Then she made me pose with him. I hate to be in pictures, but it was Christmas.

Then I went to take the baby from DH to bring him to the next person they wanted to pose him with my MIL freaked out--like she never though she'd see me voluntarily pick up a child! Chat Icon

So, of course, then I had to pose for another 50 pictures!Chat Icon
