111 in '11 Challenge
Was lurking on the Nest and saw that there is a challenge to read 111 books in 2011 and just wanted to know what everyone on here thought about that. Do you think its a realistic goal for you? I am interested in trying it. I usually about 2 books a week as it is so I think I could do it. Sometimes I go through a period of a month or two where I stop reading so I guess that wouldn't be an option with this challenge.

I average about 2-3 books a week so I could definitely do it. I take the train to work so that helps a lot.

Me too! I've never met anyone else who reads as much as I do(or as quickly)

Haha I started a book yesterday and I wonder...If I don't finish it before the new year what does that count for? 1/2 a book? lol

I'm hoping that I can read more this year...I don't know if 111 will be realistic, with a newborn coming in March, but I'll try!! I can usually knock out like 2-3 books a week.
Thought - do audiobooks count? I have an hour and 15 minuted commute each way (at least), so I listen to audiobooks a lot.

It's an interesting concept...don't know if I could do as I average around 2/3 books a month - unless you count what I read to DS at night

Not with me reading Stephen King books! 
I read a lot of books to DC at bedtime. Do those count? Some of their books only have about a dozen pages, and sometimes as many words....

There is NO WAY I could do this. And trust me, I am always reading. I have three little ones at home and I reject them for my Nook enough as it is.
I read 15 books in 2010 and I thought that was pretty good. Anyway, I don't think even if I had the time that I would WANT to read that much...

So wait, that's more than 2 books a week now that I did the math. Yeah. Not happening. I'd be happy with 25 books. I just don't have that kind of time unless I give up all of my internet time and that's not happening.

I've kept track for the past few years and have never come close to 111 -- more like 30 max. No way I could do this, even though I LOVE to read.
I guess it depends on how much free time you have, or what kinds of books you tend to read.
