I had my twins!!
Morning everyone! Well I gave birth to my beautiful twins Tuesday 1/4/11. I was scheduled for a c-section for 11:30 that day because baby A was breech and I was 37 weeks 5 days along. Well I must have said that date so many times leading up to it that the babies heard me and when I woke up that morning to go to the bathroom my water broke! They were determined to come out lol. We called my OB and she said as long as I dint have contractions take our time but make our way over to the hospital.
I took a shower and as Im drying my hair the contractions started, this was only 20 minutes after talking to the doctor. When we left our house they were 4-5 minutes apart and by the time I got to labor and delivery they were 3 minutes apart, I was 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced. They did an exam and Baby A's knee was what was presenting first so they said we are going to the OR ASAP. The contractions hurt so bad and I just wasnt mentally prepared to go through that again since I was supposed to be having a scheduled c-section that day.
Eveything went smooth from that point on. The spinal pinched for a second but starts working immediately and I had so much relief after that! The whole procedure took about an hour and after they were born they let my DH hold both of them and they let both babies come to recovery with us for about 30 minutes so I was able to start breastfeeding.
I cannot say enough good things about LIJ. The best thing is because I had twins they gave me a private room! The nurses have all been amazing!! My recovery is going well. I didint know what to expect since I had a vaginal birth with my DS but as long as I take pain meds every so often I seem to be ok.
Mia Rose was born at 10:34 AM and weighed 6lbs 11oz
Max Aiden was born at 10:35 AM and weighed 5lbs 7 oz.
As you can see in the picture even fraternal twins are alike. Mia scratched herself shortly after she was born and Max decided he needed to match so he scratched his cheek a few hours later lol.

Congratulations! They are adorable!  They each have a scratch on their cheek...definatly twins! Hope you are having a easy recovery!
