Re: Tomorrow is my D&C
It will be ok. Stay calm. I almost passed out right before my procedure and it didn't help. What did help was the amazing support staff at the hospital and I hope you have a good team too. I'm so sorry you have to be going through this. The whole time I was there prepping I kept turning to my husband saying "this is Bull***t" Good luck.

Re: Tomorrow is my D&C
I was a nervous wreck as well. The day I found out I lost my baby; was the same day I had the D&C. Doctor called me at home a few hours later and said head to the hospital; they can fit me in.
I was petrified! Crying to DH that I never been put under. He calmed me down. Once at the hospital and they had me in the Prep Room; I asked a Dozen questions to the DR and to the Anesthesiologist. Their answers to my questions eased me ALOT. And they were right.
Its very intimidating to be wheeled into the surgery room. But so many people are in there with you and have done it so many times on patients; you know things will turn out OK. I remember the Anesthesiologist giving me the needle; and I said Uh OH I feel my heart racing. Dont give me too much! And he said, nope its not racing. That was it. I woke up 20 minutes later; I couldnt beleive it was all done!!! And the next day, physically, I felt fantastic. Walked around in the mall; did some errands. etc. Just being with DH all day was all I wanted; couldnt care what I was doing.
You will be fine! The fear wont go away until after you wake up! But know it will be OK!!

Re: Tomorrow is my D&C
It will be ok. It sucks but you will be just fine (procedure wise). I went in the same night to be dialiated and then the next morning for the d&e. I actually walked into the o.r. hysterical. the staff was fantastic though - they calmed me down. i was also scared of being put under general - i never had been before (at least not general anast). im not going to lie, i felt a little crap"y from it for a few days but it will be ok. and you wont know a thing that went on. just relax for at LEAST two days after. I am here if you need.
Good Luck!! and FM me anytime if you want to vent...
