Does anyone have sinus problems?
Have you ever had a cat scan of the sinuses? Surgery? Was your problem on one side or both? Do you have a deviated septum?
TIA!

Re: Does anyone have sinus problems?
I had surgery for: deviated septum nasal polyps sinus reduction
I'm much better after the surgery - before the surgery I could not function 5 out of 7 days and now I'm down to 1 sinus infection every ~6 months.
Unfortunately my polyps have regrown; I'm currently managing with doses of steroids and antibiotics but I will need again to have surgery to remove the polyps.

Re: Does anyone have sinus problems?
Thanks ladies! Can you tell me if your issues were on both sides or just one?

Re: Does anyone have sinus problems?
One of the best things I have ever done was getting sinus surgery.
I have problems on both sides, it was worse on my right though. I had a deviated septum (spelling?) and a cyst. However, my problem was not the ds, it was my very narrow nasal passage and adnoids. My doctor suggested widening the nasal passage, taking the cyst out and adnoids out. She said the ds surgery could be avoided. I did that September 2009 and I have NOT had one sinus infection since. From January 09 - Aug 09, I had 12 sinus infections, it was so worth it!
The surgery was not bad. The worst part was the packing in my nose (sorry for the graphic detail). I had no bruising, just swelling. I did take my pain medicine because I was uncomfortable. But after 5 days I felt 100%.
ETA: The neti-pot saved me too! I highly recommend one. I use it about once a week just to keep my nasal passage clean and bacterial-free. And anytime I feel a cold coming on, I use it once a day.

Both sides for me.
I use the Neil Med Sinus rinse daily - sometimes twice a day if allergies/cold is bothering me.

Re: Does anyone have sinus problems?
Thanks ladies. My issues seem to be only on one side which, the Dr. said was uncommon which is why I was asking.
