Has anyone here had Lasik

Has anyone here had Lasik? If so how much does it cost to get done? I wonder if my health insurance co would cover it.

I had it done a year ago and it was 2500 if paying by credit, 2300 if cash. The doctor that did it is someone I've known for a very long time and he said that there is no insurace covering it as of last year. Honestly, it was worth every penny. Best thing I ever did!

I looked into it and it was $4000 and my union would cover $1000. I wound up not having it done b/c my opthalmologist said that she didn't feel that there is enough research on the long-term effects.

Mine was 3500. I used care credit to finance at 0% for 2 years.

I had custom bladeless lasik ... best you can get from one of the best docs around and paid about 5k... i have no issues with my eyes whatsoever... and i have free lifetime enhancements should my vision ever get worse again

insurance only took off about $500 i believe... but it was the best investment i have ever made.... i was able to take a loan out for it, interest free for 1 yr

Mine was $3500, but i had prk because I did not qualify for lasik. Insurance does not cover it because it is an elective surgery. Six months later and I have 20/20 vision. Great investment!

My friends husband just had it done on Friday-it wasn't covered by insurance. I believe he used Donnenfeld too.

I had LASIK 10 years ago (GULP, OMG it is 11 now!!!). I had one eye done because I had one eye that was much worse than the other. That brought me to 20/20 right away. The thing to know is that your eyes will continue to get worse at the same rate that they would have before LASIK. That is a product of age and has nothing to do with how the procedure was done. The issue for me now is that I have monovision, a concept where one eye is great for distance and one is great for reading. Right now my choice is between having another LASIK procedure but then needing reading glasses or not having it but then needing distance glasses again some of the time. I am at an age where most people start to need reading glasses. That said, I was out of glasses totally for about 9 years. The doctor that I used has been teaching the procedure since the beginning, owns his own equipment and is not just someone who basically rents space at a big center. He gets many of the cases where other doctors have made mistakes and he is known among attorneys because he provides expert testimony in LASIK malpractice cases. If I decide to do it again or to have the other eye done, I am going back to him. I am wearing glasses as I type this but I am still so glad I had LASIK done. My overall vision is still a lot better than it was before and back when I used to go out a lot I hated wearing glasses.

i had lasik done about 6 months ago. it cost about $5k and my insurance covered $600 of it. better than nothing i guess.

I'm getting mine done with Dr. Kelly at Kelly Laser Center in Garden City on April 20th The plan that I chose is costing me $3700. My insurance doesn't cover any of it.

i had it done 9 years ago and it cost about 4000 at the time. insurance didnt cover it. would pay anything for the results i got! best investment ever!!!

Yes! & it was well worth every penny. $3500 I highly recommend going to a well renown lasik surgeon as they have the most experience in this
