Do schools still
require students to know, or teach roman numerals anymore?

Nope. I teach high school and none of my students know them.

We teach them in middle school, private school, as a cross curricular math and history lesson, during their study of the Roman empire.

i teach 4th and 5th grade and it's not in our math curriculum. one teacher i know always teaches them. i hope they're taught at the middle school level.
