Sickness, school & birthdays..

Let me first start by saying my DS is currently not sick--
He has school tomorrow (only day this week) and his birthday party is Sunday. The month of December we spent sick-- and now since starting back up he has had one major cold & pink eye last week. He is good now, I really want him to be healthy for his party this weekend---DH says just let him go to school...I feel a little crazy for even asking this. I should just send him, right? Can't live in fear of sickness......

I totally know how you feel and I admit, at times, I do live in "fear" of sickness. I felt bad, but I avoided my mom on Monday b/c she was still having "pains in her stomach" from a virus she had last week. What if it's still "living" in her house?!? Crazy, I know, but that's me. I understand I can't protect my family from every germ, and germs can be good, but they are an inconvenience.
Bottom line, if I were in your predicament, I would keep DC home just to be safe

you are not crazy. I feel like this all of the time lately. There has been so much illness in DDs school. And she has asthma, so every time she catches Little Johnnys cold - she gets very sick for weeks. Im sure some will probably disagree with me...but Id keep DS home so hes Ok for his party.

I would totally keep him home! I have done that before a weekend trip we had planned!

ONE day - keep him home I would be lying if I said I never contemplated doing the exact same thing!

My son is not allowed to stay home unless he is really sick.
