one month
One month ago today I hurt my knee from running.
I'm feeling so discouraged! I want to break 2 hours in in the LI Marathon in May but I'm worried I won't have enough time to train.
I feel like I'm getting so gross and fat from not running.
And I just miss it.
I just needed to vent...I feel awful. Going to see a new doctor tomorrow about it. Hopefully I'll get a better diagnosis and more info.

Re: one month
so sorry! being side-lined from injury is so frustrating especially when you have a goal. i know how it is to miss running so i feel for you! i know you have a goal with time, but could you let that go and just have a goal to at least complete this race? then maybe as you feel better you could train for another half for time later in the year so that you can strengthen your knee and not get injured long term? just a thought. don't give up-you will run again.

Re: one month
Feel better...and you still have time for LI. Since you are not a beginner, you could even start training in early March and do fine.

I agree, you still have plenty of time to train, so better to take the time off now and heal fully. Keep us updated about what the dr. says

Re: one month
so sorry. dont let this get you down. you knee needs time to heal. you will be able to get right back into training. my mom had a injury and didnt give it enough time to heal, she kept running through it (got another injury on top of that) and missed out on the diva half marathon this past oct. you body/dr will tell you when its ok. are you still going to the gym? def keep up with weight training and yoga if you can. ps im currently training for the li half
