Fabric store
Can you recommend all the fabric stores on LI? I know of Fabric Mill.
A friends daughter is in a wedding, she is the flower girl and she is having the dressed made so they are looking for lace and fabric.
TIA

Re: Fabric store
Walmart has fabric, not a great selection.
The Joanne's in Holbrook has a great selection of fabric.
There's another store, Fabricade on Vets Hw, in Bohemia.

Re: Fabric store
There is a pretty good fabric store in Commack on Jericho Tnpk.
Can't remember the name though! It's in a small strip of stores with Jackson's restaurant in it on the north side of the street.

"Fabrics 1 To 3 Dollars" It's just east of Home Depot.
Never been in there, but I like the name...

Re: Fabric store
There are not too many places on LI to get clothing fabrics. I think that at Joanne's the laces need to be special ordered. I would suggest a trip into the city would be the best bet although not ideal. Years ago when I needed fabric for a dress I went to a place in Queens, but it was so long ago, I don't know where it was. Sew What's New is on Montauk Hwy in West/East Islip (not sure) but they have mostly quilting fabrics. When I spoke to them, they said that it just does not pay to carry clothing fabrics, although they would love too because nobody buys them. I wish there were more places to get fabrics.

Re: Fabric store
Did you try the place on Voice Road. No one here on LI really does dress making anymore or home sewing but I would call over there b/c they get alot of remnants. I don't know the name of though.
Good Luck!
