Since there are often questions posted on the "Home" board regarding property taxes (and how to challenge them), I wanted to let members know that the Town of Hempstead is hosting a "Property Taxpayer Rights Forum" on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The forum will take place at the Bellmore Memorial Library, 2288 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore. The focus of the discussion will be on taxpayer rights, and how homeowners can challenge their assessments, as well as apply for exemptions. There will be an opportunity to ask questions as well.
