Insanity (infomercial)

I saw the Insanity informercial the other day and am truely intrigued. It looks similar to P90x but you dont need weights and is only 60 days. Has anyone tried it or know someone who has?

Also I wonder how much space you need and how badly you sweat...the people on the show were very drenched and I cannot imagine sweating all over my living room like that, lol! But I am still interested either way. I just feel like my gym workouts are getting boring.

I was going to say the same thing.
I do it once or twice a week (when I can't get out to run). It is extremely intense---the sweat is gross. I am dripping throughout the workout. I know Julz33 is doing it as it is intended (6 days a week) and I bet she is seeing some sweet results!

ETA: It is p90X times 50 in intensity (I would say). You do need some space for some of the workouts. For some of the things you need enough space to step 3 grapevine widths and back (not that you grapevine in the workout but that's about the space to measure). I would not recommend this in a living room.

Re: Insanity (infomercial)

Yep DH and I are doing it following the schedule 6 days per week. It is one of those things where you get out of it what you put into it. So I am giving 100% every day and yes I am drenched and exhausted just like the people in the infomercial. After only 2 weeks I saw dramatic results in my fit test numbers (certain exercises you do the most you can in 1 minute). That first day I thought I was going to die with the amount of reps I did... but just 15 days later some of them DOUBLED! As far as seeing results on my body, its 25 days now and I am seeing the most results in my upper arms, shoulders and back. Those were my weak spots. My legs have always beens in shape from running. I also see a lot more definition in the obliques. Regular abs are still coated in loose post baby skin. But it is definitely working. I am strictly following their schedule so now only running 1 day per week on the day that meets up with the Recovery dvd. I have been trying to do 5k races or a mock 5k in my neighborhood for my 1 day of running.
You don't need any equipment, just a mat for the abs workout. You need ceiling height to jump and space to run side to side and do floor plank type exercises, guessing 1.5 body lengths. Any other questions fm me or ask here.

Julz, I sent you a fm the other day - do you think I would benefit from 4-5x per week?

Re: Insanity (infomercial)

I haven't taken measurements but I did lose about 1.5 lbs since starting. I know thats not a lot, but I only have 0.5 to lose to get to my pre-preg weight. I definitely see more toning in my muscles.

Re: Insanity (infomercial)

Lisa (my DOC) is doing this and she dropped a ton of weight and rocked her body! But it really is intense as she's said. I thought about giving it a shot but, I don't want anything more intense then P90X
