Help !
Someone please help me understand why my 10 year old cat has decided to start pooping in my house when he has never done it before.
Over the past 6 months it happened like once every 2 weeks and this week alone like 5 times.
I do not know what to do.. I love him but cannot take much more .
I need to find out what is causing him to do it or my husband will get rid of him .

Aside from the bathroom issue he seems perfectly fine.
Can being sick cause this to happen ?

Yes. Something is bothering him. He's trying to tell you something. You need to find out what it is.
My cat on the otherhand started doing it out of stress due to another cat in the house. she is on anti-anxiety meds now and it has corrected the behavior.
things to consider: new pet, new or more active child, new litter, new litterbox placement. You're going to have to go back the six months to when it first started.
