Hair Bow makers?

Anyone else out there? I'm so addicted! I do some flowers and felt clips too. Soon I will need a 12 step program. DD1's nursery school is going to think I'm nuts b/c I don't think she has worn the same clip there twice! Ha! I'd love to see photos of your stuff too. I'm always searching Etsy for new inspiration!

Re: Hair Bow makers?

Yes....ME! My DD is only 10mos and she has a rediculous amount of clips! I have done bows, just plain ribbon covered, flowers, felt clips. I can't stop and now I make them for all the little girls I know too because I figure, why not, I have the stuff. Lol!!

I'd love to share ideasChat Icon

Re: Hair Bow makers?

yes, let's totally share ideas!!!! let's post some pics! My 2 girls have such a ridiculous amount too. Ok, I'm making dinner but I'll come back to this. Maybe I'll start an album on LIF to show you what I've made them.

Re: Hair Bow makers?

I see you have been shopping at Target in the $1 section (I've gotten a bunch of that ribbon too). I've wiped out Dollar Tree b/c they have 4 yards of 7/8 grosgrain...so I've bought 15 colors! I did well at Michaels this week too. I got a lot of felt embellishments that were 12 or 24 for either .89 cents or $1. I don't know what I'll do with that many, but I've got them. I also got some felt craft kits for .17 and .49 (one easter and one flowers) that I won't use for their purposes.

I can't get my bitty bows to look as nice as the ones I've bought. I like yours! Did you stitch some? I'm so not into sewing! Ha!

Anyway, I took some pretty pictures! I love my Nikon D40 too. Chat Icon

Here are a few recent ones (I don't know why the first loopy bow pic is so big!):

Re: Hair Bow makers?

BTW, my DD2 turns 9 months next week. I wish she had hair! I have a few snap clippies that will stay in her few strands of hair, but that's it! I'm the queen of non-slip grip in my clips! I use shelf liner in a skin tone. Do you put it in? What do you use?

Oh, I love them. Very cute.

Do you have any directions you can share for the ones like the purple bow?

I don't sew either, but I did on the 2 felt ones just to add a little something to it.

I feel the same way and my daughter is 19 months!!!!!! Gotta love those non-slip grips--at least it's something! We do a lot of headbands too.

Not sure how much you pay on etsy, but just so you know you can get alligator cilps at Sally's. They are $5.99 for a box of 100. They don't come with a grip, but you can easily add it.

Very true, I never even thought of that (I went to school for cosmetology Chat Icon) I will have to check what I paid, but I think it was probably around that price for 50 clips. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! That is about what I pay, but it would be nice to not have to wait for them to ship. I wonder how many mm/inches they are?

thanks! I've always loved making stuff. I get really bored with one style so I make lots of different things...and I get a rush walking around a craft store trying to find stuff to glue onto clips! Chat Icon

Do you have any directions you can share for the ones like the purple bow?

I love everything that you ladies are making! I've lined alligator clips with different ribbon and want to learn how to make bows. The last thing I made was a flower headband for DD's birthday. I made a matching flower on an alligator clip for myself too!
