planning
Did any of you try to plan your pregnancy so you could have a baby close in age to a friends baby or a relatives baby? (I know it may not be too realistic, but I was just curious).
eta: we are not ttc, but a few friends of ours are expecting and joked that we should ttc so our kids can grow up together.

I never even thought of that.
I found that even if you try to plan a baby around the same time as someone else - it may not happen when its planned like that.
I think the best time to have a baby is definitely when you and DH are ready - although having babies always seems like it produces a chain-reaction...

We sort of did. It would have changed much one way or the other but most of our friends were working on their second and we were ready to TTC and got pregnant right away so it worked out well. We are all due or had babies within 6 months of each other. My cousin and DH's cousin are also due 3 and 5 months after us but we don't live near them.

I knew some of my friends were also ttc, but it just so happens 3 of my closest friends are due Nov, Dec, and a week after me in Jan. It is the best! I have somebody to talk to about everything that's going on.

Yup, we did! My husband's best friend and his wife told us they would start trying in December 04', so we said we would start too, we were lucky enough to get preggo on the first try, but they were only 10 weeks behind us!

Not exactly. A close friend of ours was pg and when I went to her baby shower I wanted be pg right then and there. We were supposed to start after our one year but decided to start TTC a few months earlier. The babies will be 10 mos apart.

We didn't plan on it but I have a friend due Sept 24, Sept 30, I am due Oct 22 and another friend due Nov 1.... I also have a cousin due any day and another friend having her baby tomorrow....lots of babies!!!

No, I'm way behind some of my friends...they have kids already 5 years old...but, I do have one girlfriend who already has 2 kids but is pregnant with baby #3 and is due in August...3 months before me.

when one of DH best friends got PG with his first, DH said it'd be cool to have one close in age to theirs so they could grow up together.
Lo and behold....the 2 kids will be 11 months apart and his friend has plans to marry them off already!

My friend is due a month before me and knows she's having a boy, she was like wouldn't it be great if you have a girl so that they could date?? YIKES! I can't even fathom that!!!!
