how do LI school teachers grade tests?

Are the tests graded from 1-5 or is it more like a percentage for example 60-100%.

That's worded ambiguously. Do you mean how to individual teachers grade the tests they give to their students? Overall GPAs? How the schools themselves are rated among each other? What grades are you asking about?

HS teacher here.

What grade level are you referring to?
What particular assessments? Regular classroom tests? or State assessments?

I can provide some insight if I have additional info.

BTW: All curriculum must be aligned with NYS Standards so there should be continuity of skills and curriculum across districts for each grade level, although different methods of instruction and materials might be used to achieve the same outcome.

Our elementary school grades on a percentage. I think the ELA tests are scored 1-4

All my son's tests are graded on a scale of 1-5. It's usually a #/#, like 20/20, followed by a 1-5 (and believe it or not, DS has gotten perfect scores and only a 4).

Ours are graded 1-100 but the teachers had a ruberick(sp?) for what each equates to on the 1-4 scale for 1st through 4th grade. Once their in 5th grade the grades are number values up to 100.
