*Peaceful Protest Idea*

For those of you interested in letting Kate Murray know how you really feel, I have an idea.

You know those flyers we ALL get in our mailboxes. You know, those ones we usually just toss? The ones with her face plastered on them?

Well, they make me ANGRY, because it's such a waste of $$$$

I am going to gather them, over the course of a month or 2, print out my letter to her stating something to the affect that she should put the money wasted on this towards the animal shelter and then mail them ALL back to her.

Maybe that will get the point across a little?

Thoughts? Ideas? Or if you are going to participate!!

FYI - Great idea....but a man named Felix has beat you to it! You see, Felix has been attending board meetings since August of 2010, where he keeps very good tabs on all of the mailings (including costs to the taxpayer) with Kate Murray's name and pictures all over it. He has discussed the cost of this at every single board meeting (and I have gone to each one twice a month since October!) He gets shot down every single time! Poor Felix! There is a letter writing campaign going on right now and a few other things you can do to protest the wasteful spending in the TOH. I will post them as soon as I can!

WHAT can WE do to TAKE BACK OUR SHELTER, HELP our COMMUNITY’S HOMELESS ANIMALS and SAVE MONEY?

2. EMAIL Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray and DEMAND that the Town EMBRACE offers of assistance from rescue and animal welfare experts to REFORM the Shelter. (Please copy and paste the link below into your browswer to access the email form).

3. WRITE to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and DEMAND his office conduct a full financial and operational audit of the Shelter.
