Anybody have really irregular AF?
I mean REALLY irregular. I've been since I got my first AF at 13! It used to be every other month, then after High School, it was months at a time, so I went on the pill. Came off the pills 2 years later.I just started to get semi regular. I got it in the beginning of Sept. and then at the end of Oct. but I ruptured a cyst on my right ovary that month, so the doc put me on the pill. Came off again this month, cause I forgot to renew my prescription. I've had cramps for 2 weeks now, took 3 tests BFN. So now I'm waiting for AF. Oh by the way I go to the gyno regularly, have had sonograms, and nothing is really wrong with me. Anyone out there similar???

Re: Anybody have really irregular AF?
since I went off BCPs in Nov, my cycles have been 30, 59 and 43 days - does that count?
This cycle is 36 days and counting...
I'm hoping its just an effect of the BCPs and I'll regulate soon.

Re: Anybody have really irregular AF?
YES ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
And it is driving me literally crazy! I also got af when I was 13. At first, I was regular. Then, just like you, it went to every other month. As time went on, I started getting it less and less. Now I am down to about 4 times a year if I am lucky. I went to the gyno, she put me on the pill and told me that would regulate me. I was on it for a year..came off this past January and havent gotten af since. I just recently went back and she wants me to go for the hsg test and told me I would probably need clomid to get pregnant. Which in all honesty upset me because she didnt tell me why this was happening..I asked if her my hsg test results came back that my tubes were open, why wasnt I getting af then? She claims she doesnt know..what kind of answer is that??
Right now I am taking vitex..an herbal med that is supposed to regulate your hormones. Its a slow acting herb that takes 3-6 months to wwork and I have been on it for a month now and still nothing. It is very frustrating and i know EXACTLY where your coming from. Fm me ANYTIME!

Try to go to an RE instead of just an OBGYN...there are a lot of blood tests that can be done that can help figure out why yo uare not ovulating.

My Doc was the same way!!! She said it might be hereditary 'cause my Mom and all my aunts were the same way! My family has so much faith that I'm going to get preggos no problem, but i'm not so sure. We'll see! Good luck with everything!

Re: Anybody have really irregular AF?
See thats what confuses me...first off..are you supposed to have that blood work done before having the hsg test? Secondly..my friends and family tell me the same thing..but my point is..how will it be easy for us when I obviously dont ovulate because I dont get af!!! Sometimes to be honest, it annoys me. We cant even TRY (well we do) or chart because theres nothing there to chart! I am so happy others understand what we are going through so we can be here for each other!

AHHH I've had this statement thrown out to me MY ENTIRE LIFE!! When I was younger I was told that since my great grandmother, grandmother and mother all had greatly irregular cycles, "it was just hereditary that I was irregular too" Gee, thanks for that info
I got AF when I was 13 as well. I don't think I ever had more than maybe 10 period from ages 13-18 years old. I went 1 entire year without a period between ages 16-17. My Mom dragged me to the gynecologist when I was 15 to have me tested, blood work, etc. MyMom had HUGE issues TTC me and my brother, but once she did conceive she had pretty easy , uneventful and healthy pregnancies with us both.. (we are 5 years apart and she had 2 miscarriages between us)
When I hit my 20s I got sick of the irregularity and went on BC pills for both protection and regulating my cycles. Due to severe problems with deblitating migraines starting in my late 20s, I went off all BC pills and for a few years, my cycles were more regular than they'd ever been.. 30-35 days
BUT NOW, I'm back to being HIGHLY irregular... and now that we are actively TTC it downright SUCK$. My cycles can range anywhere from 40-50 days and sometimes MUCH longer (70days isn't unusual). I have gained a considerable amount of weight, and have noticed when I am heavier my cycles are longer and I must not ovulate.
I am fairly certain that I will need Clomid and I also have endometriosis that complicated my attempts to TTC (though I did have the endo removed this past January, but time is of the essence to conceive before the endo returns)
Oh I could go , but I"ll spare you fine ladies...I am so sorrry that so many of us have irregular cycles, they truly ARE frustrating and in particular when TTC, this does become a very upsetting issue
It is wonderful to be able to VENT here though and realize that we are all facing similar issues and can relate to one another and help each other
