I find the jarred pesto is way too oily. It's very simple to make homemade. Throw basil, parm cheese, pine nuts or walnuts, some garlic and salt and stream in olive oil in a food processor.

I like Classico
I let it sit, until the oil rises to the top, then open and pour out the oil. If I am sauteing something, i will just a bit of that oil, otherwise I just throw it away.
I also will thin it out a bit by added a can of diced tomatoes and some cream. Makes a creamy pesto sauce.
