Because this seems to come under the heading of "interests" how many of you journal?
I've kept a journal since the early 90's. Wish I would have done it from the time I knew how to write!!! But, I feel that in addition to leaving a history for future generations, it's a great way to express one's feelings, and vent in a way that doesn't hurt others, and it can sometimes help one feel better!!! If I feel what I have written, will hurt someone who reads it after I die, I delete it. But, I don't remove all my feelings, because they're a part of life. Mary

Yes sometimes, writing it out just relieves the tension of the situation. I do not keep a journal but will write about it and then throw it away. MMM would love to leave some of them in sealed envelopes for certain people. But I figure if I am gone why leave them feeling bad about something.

I've kept a journal for 20 years. They stack to my mid thigh I think. It's my life's work - I will keep one until my last breath.
Hi!! I did not get started until the 90's, but I have two book shelves of journals. It's interesting to read them, because I had forgotten some of the stuff I wrote about, which is precisely why it's important for me to write it down. I wish that I had more written memories of my ancestors!!! Mary

Hi Mary -- It's a huge accomplishment to be able to stick to it, no matter when you started so kudos to you! It's pretty embarrassing for me to go back to my 14 year old entries!
It's overwhelming to read the things you've forgotten...to see how you've changed or stayed the same.
You're brave to keep them on your bookshelf! I hide mine away!
Thanks!! Recently, I've been writing once a week, trying to remember everything, but I want to get back to writing on a daily basis. Genealogy has been taking up my time, and I still have to get my Cousin's Birthday Scrapbook made for June!!!! Busy, Busy, Busy!!! I can remember my younger years, and while I didn't journal then, I have written my memories in several Memory Books. Mary
